Established in 1872 in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter, Cooke Brothers has a long established history and reputation for supplying hinges for standard and bespoke applications, at home and overseas. Cooke Brothers now occupies a 7 acre site dedicated to the manufacture of this core business, with a 5th generation Cooke family member leading the company through its next phase of growth. CAPABILITIES
Cooke Brothers produce Architectural Hinges, Architectural Ironmongery, Continuous Hinges and Special Products, manufactured to customers' specific requirements. With press capacity of up to 300 tones and state-of-the-art automated production equipment we are confident in our ability to supply products of the highest quality. In addition, our sister company Phoenix Tooling and Development, provides Cooke Brothers with state of the art press tooling, manufactured on the latest CAD/CAM 3D machining systems.
Modern secondary operation presses up to 100 tonnes capacity are available for lower volumes or complex shapes, with ancillary equipment for operations such as riveting, drilling, welding, tapping, linishing and folding. Plating, coating, polishing and powder based finishes are available in-house or through approved suppliers. Furthering Cooke's low and high volume production facilities, their laser cutting (also available at subcontract) has a cutting capacity of up to 5mm in thickness, with laser punching capacity up to 22 tonnes force, and includes coining processes such as countersinking, ribbing, as well as bending and tapping.
Further additions include anti-bacterial coatings, PVD and gold plating of architectural ironmongery products, as well as 500 and 1,000 hour accelerated corrosion tested finishes for automotive products.
